"Israel: The Elusive Peace" Conference in Review
Many participated in the Memorial Day weekend conference, "Israel: The Elusive Peace" with speakers: Dr. George Giacumakis, Deby Brown, Susan Michael and Rev. Malcolm Hedding. The entire conference focused on Israel, giving us a full understanding of God's plan for world redemption beginning with the Abrahamic Covenant. We acquired a history of the land of Israel and why her peace is so elusive.
Dr. George Giacumakis, launched the conference by giving us a historical foundation regarding the elusive peace of Israel. He shared about the Jewish-Arab conflicts and the Israeli-Palestinian conflicts of the 20th and 21th centuries, and brought us to the one place in the world that is central to conflict. Christians call this place the Temple Mount. Muslims call this place the Dome of the Rock. Dr. Giacumakis calls this place "The 32 Acres of Conflict!" Dr. Giacumakis is a Professor at Biola University and Director of the Museum of Biblical and Sacred Writings.
Malcolm Hedding taught several times. In one message, "For Such A Time As This," he taught that Christians are grafted into spiritual Israel. It is because of Jewish unbelief that Christians can find salvation. He wrapped up the conference with "The Great Covenants of Salvation." He explained the interconnectedness of the following four covenants God made: 1) The Abrahamic Covenant (Genesis 12:1-3; Psalm 105:7-12; Galatians 3:8); 2) The Mosaic Covenant (Exodus 20:18-21, Galatians 3:24, Romans 3:20); 3) The New Covenant (1 Corinthians 11:23-26, Galatians 3:13-14); and 4) The Davidic Covenant (1 Chronicles 17:11-14, Luke 1:30-33; Revelation 22:16). He closed the conference with the good news that the nation of Israel has been, and is being, restored in our day to usher in the fulfillment of the Davidic Covenant! Rev. Malcolm Hedding is Executive Director Emeritus of the International Christian Embassy, Jerusalem.
Susan Michael also spoke several times. She shared that the history of anti-semitism began in the Garden of Eden and the Middle East turmoil today stems from this point, as it is all about the spiritual battle from the beginnings of time. God loves the world and chose Israel to bring the world to Himself. Satan knows that if Israel fails, God's plan for world redemption ends. God WILL bring His plan about through Israel. He promises this and God does not break any of His promises. Susan Michael is the Director of the International Christian Embassy, Jerusalem-USA.
Deby Brown taught the seminar, "God's Most Important Promise to Israel and to the Church," and shared that the promise God made to the world was that salvation would be offered to non-Jewish people, but that their roots would be tied into the Jewish foundation. She taught that the church, by no means, has replaced Israel. Deby Brown is Song For Israel Director.
Thank you to the many Song For Israel volunteers who helped to make this conference a success!
