Day 3 - Tel Aviv Independence Hall, Jaffa, Tel Aviv Boardwalk

We begin our tour where Israel was reborn — Tel Aviv Independence Hall. It is the site where Israel's Declaration of Independence was signed on May 14, 1948. The building was originally the home of Meir Dizengoff, the first mayor of Tel Aviv, who later donated it to the city. The museum commemorates the declaration ceremony. We will then visit nearby Jaffa, which is where you will read about the story of Jonah. Jaffa city sits atop a naturally-elevated outcrop on the Mediterranean coastline, giving a fantastic view of Tel Aviv. After lunch we will enjoy some free time in downtown Tel Aviv, including a stroll on the Boardwalk on the beach.

Overnight at the Metropolitan Hotel, Tel Aviv.

DAY 4 - Jericho, Genesis Land, & Eilat

2023 Tour Group at Genesis Land

We will begin our day visiting the archaeological dig at Jericho. Before the battle of Jericho, God gave Joshua specific instructions for the men of war to march in silence around the city once each day for six days. The priests were to walk with them, blowing ram’s horns and carrying the ark of the covenant as a sign of God’s presence among them. On the seventh day, they were to march around the city seven times. At the appropriate signal, the priests were to blow their trumpets, and the people were to give a mighty shout. They did exactly as Joshua commanded, and on the seventh day the walls of Jericho crumbled. The soldiers went in and took the city, destroying it completely. Only Rahab and her family were spared. We will visit stop at Wadi Qelt, the valley and stream. We will view the archaeological remains at this site. We will stop for lunch at Genesis Land which is situated in the heart of the Judean desert on the way to the Dead Sea, in the land where the Patriarchs lived. A magical place, it enables visitors to experience life as it was in biblical times. You will be greeted by Eliezer, Abraham's manservant, and by a train of camels which will lead you down to Abraham's tent where you will experience his legendary hospitality. At Genesis Land, the stories of the Bible come to life in the very landscape in which they took place. Then we will enjoy the ride south to Eilat, four countries can be seen from this site: Israel, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Jordan.

Enjoy our first Shabbat dinner together and then overnight at the Isrotel Lagoona Hotel, Eilat

DAY 5 - timna park & “the Mushroom,” Tabernacle replica

The “Mushroom” in Timna Park

Timna park combines stunning desert landscapes, unique geological features, and fascinating archeological finds. Timna was first recognized by the Canaanites for its ores of copper. The veins of green rock, especially if mixed with a bit of zinc, was the first metal used to create weapons, household tools, and cultic objects. Raw copper was quarried in Timna in large quantities both by the Canaanites, the Egyptians, and the Israelites. The “Mushroom” is another unique natural formation formed by the erosion of the red sandstone. The bottom of the rock experienced a more rapid erosion resulting in the beautiful mushroom shape we see today. Located within Timna Park is an exact replica of the Tabernacle God ordered Moses to build while he was on Mount Sinai. This tabernacle contains every piece of furniture, Brazen Altar, Table of Showbread, Ark of the Covenant, and everything the original tabernacle had. It’s the only life-size model of its kind in Israel that is exactly like the original one. It has been researched extensively and built according to the specifications given to Moses.

Overnight at the Isrotel Lagonna Hotel, Eilat

Makhtesh Ramon

Day 6 - Makhtesh Ramon crater, Jeep Tour, Tel Beer Sheva, Valley of Elah

First, we will take a jeep ride to visit the Ramon Crater in Israel’s Negev Desert. It is the world’s largest erosion crator or makhtesh. We will take a jeep tour to view the stunning scenery which is one-of-a kind and somewhat like the Grand Canyon. Next, we will visit Tel Be’er Sheva, which played an important role in the biblical narrative, especially the stories from the time of the Patriarchs. Be’er Sheva is mentioned 33 times in the Hebrew Bible. As told in Genesis, Be’er Sheva was home to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. It was there that Abraham formed a covenant with King Abimelech (Genesis 21:32) and it is also where both Isaac and Jacob spoke to God (Genesis 26:23–24; 46:1–4). We end our day visiting the Valley of Elah, the place described in the Old Testament where the Israelites were encamped when David fought Goliath (1 Samuel 17:2; 1 Samuel 17:19).

Overnight at the Prima Kings Hotel, Jerusalem.

Day 7 - Mt. Olives, Western Wall tunnel tour & glance in the past, Old city & ramparts walk

We will begin our morning with a visit to the Mt. of Olives which overlooks the Kidron Valley. We will enjoy a private garden for worship in the Garden of Gethsemane. Then we will take one of two tours to the Western Wall Tunnels. We will have lunch in the Old City and then have a free afternoon in the Old City for shopping, a visit to the Western Wall, or the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. We will end our day with a walk on the Ramparts in the Old City.

day 8 - friends of zion museum, Yad Hashmona Biblical Gardens, shiloh & Bethany

Yad Hashmona Biblical Gardens

Our first stop today will be visiting the Friends of Zion Museum which celebrates Christian Zionists and their contributions to Israel, showcasing non-Jewish aid to the Jewish people and support for Zionism. The museum features seven exhibitions that combine 3D technology, touch screens, original musical scores, and surround sound. Each of the four floors covers different periods in Jewish history, including the 19th century, the British Mandate for Palestine, the Holocaust, and the establishment of Israel. Our next stop will be the Yad Hashmona Biblical Gardens with a skilled guide taking us through the garden, covering the northern hillside of the Messianic Moshav grounds. We will have a glimpse into the spiritual, physical, and agricultural world of the Jewish people in the land of the Bible. It displays a variety of biblical plants and trees as well as reconstructed facilities from biblical times. The Garden includes an ancient wine press, an olive oil press, a “Mikve” (ritual bath), a burial cave, an agricultural watchtower, a Galilean-type synagogue, and a Bedouin tent. We will visit the amazing location of Shiloh, where the Tabernacle sat for over 400 years. Imagine standing where the holy tabernacle was originally established. Shiloh, nestled in the hills of Ephraim, is where God first made His Name abide for well over three centuries. It is rich in biblical history and the location of one of Israel’s greatest prophets, Samuel. It was at Shiloh where Hannah prayed for a son. It was at Shiloh where the boy, Samuel, heard the voice of God. It was at Shiloh that the high priest, Eli, fell and died at the news of defeat and capture of the Ark of the Covenant by the Philistines. It was Shiloh, in the Book of Jeremiah, that God warns as an example of divine judgment upon the holy city of Jerusalem. Today, Tel Shiloh is a treasure trove where archaeological excavations progress each year. Deby has participated in an archaeological dig at this site and will share about her experience. There is always something new to see. Tel Shiloh also boasts one of the best souvenir shops , full of locally made crafts and wines. The whole congregation of Israel assembled together at Shiloh and set up the Tent of Meeting there. Joshua 18:1. We will end our day with a visit to Bethany, near the ancient city of Jerusalem, Bethany is known for its associations with significant events in the life of Yeshua, Jesus. It is notably mentioned as the home of Mary, Martha, and their brother Lazarus. and perhaps most renowned for the miraculous raising of Lazarus from the dead by Jesus. In Bethany, a woman—anointing Jesus with costly perfume—prefigured his burial.

Overnight at the Prima Kings Hotel, Jerusalem.

A short drive from our hotel is Bethlehem’s Shepherds Field and cave, the birthplace of Yeshua. We will visit the Cave of the Patriarchs which is the world’s most ancient Jewish site and the second holiest place for the Jewish people, after the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. The cave and the adjoining field were purchased—at full market price—by Abraham some 3700 years ago. Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Sarah, Rebecca, and Leah are all later buried in the same Cave of Machpelah. The structure was built during the Second Temple Period (about 2,000 years ago) by Herod, King of Judea.
