Are the Prophecies of Amos Being Fulfilled with Syria?

Israel has destroyed Syria--all of their defenses--in three days. They destroyed their naval force, air force, and munitions in Syria. South Lebanon has been destroyed.

This was all written in the Bible in the book of Amos, thousands of years ago. This is what Amos says about Damascus: "Thus says the LORD, 'for three transgressions of Damascus and for four, I will not revoke its punishment, because they threshed Gilead with implements of sharp iron. So, I will send fire upon the house of Hazael and it will consume the citadels of Ben-Hadad. I will also break the gate bar of Damascus and cut off the inhabitants from the Valley of Aven." (Amos 1:3-5). Could this be what Amos was referring to? Was this prophecy just fulfilled?

This is exactly what happened. The Assad regime of over 50 years was destroyed. The Valley of Aven (v. 5) is very close to Damascus. This is what fell. Israel came in, Assad fell, the rebels came in, and there wasn't even any resistance. Israel was able to walk in and take over. Missiles, naval ships, fighter jets, and ammunition that could have been used against Israel, were destroyed. 86" of the Syrian air defense was destroyed. Just as mentioned in the Book of Amos, the king fell and the place fell. They crippled a major threat in the region and is no longer a threat to Israel.

Amos continues by bringing up the circle of enemies that surround Israel.

The next thing Amos mentions is Gaza and then Lebanon. Then Amos focuses on Jordan (Ammon) in v. 13. Could this be yet coming? Check out the rest of the book for yourself.

Although Gaza is pretty much wiped out, there are still skirmishes, rockets are still coming into Israel (although many fewer than previously) and tunnels with weaponry are still being discovered. However, this war will not be over until the hostages are brought back home. Please continue to pray that Israel's enemies will be completely destroyed and that God will bring the hostages home alive.
