181 Ballistic Missiles Launched by Iran into Israel Today
Just hours ago, Israel was under heavy attack directly from Iran. 181 ballistic missiles were launched in the largest ballistic attack ever from Iran. There were two waves of attacks. Ballistic missiles have a longer range and can arrive in Israel 12 minutes after launch. They have more lethal projectiles and can travel a greater distance.
If you look on the map here, you can see that all across the country was targeted and under attack simultaneously, with the Iron Dome working overtime. So far, reports show that there was one Arab death in Jericho, no Jewish deaths, and most missiles were intercepted. However, several got past the Iron Dome but hit open spaces. We are waiting for more details.
I checked in with most of my friends in Israel, and they all reported that they had been in bomb shelters for over an hour and the missiles seemed to have stopped, at least for now. They reported hearing constant sirens and bombs overhead. Here in America, my phone was constantly lit up with Red Alerts.
Many people have bomb shelters to run to, but there are many, many more who do not have access to one. Not only is there danger of a direct missile hit but also a huge concern with shrapnel damage after the Iron Dome takes out a missile.
Song For Israel has provided ten large shelters so far and we have collected donations for over half of what the next shelter will cost. Shelters run $27,940. We are hoping to collect enough donations to send the funds to Israel on the anniversary of the war, October 7, to bring some hope to them on that dreadful day. If you are able to make a donation—no matter how small, please click here. To learn more about where our past shelters in Israel were placed, please click here.
Please pray for Israel. There could be continued attacks. Pray for wisdom for Israel’s leadership as they discuss a retaliation.
