ISRAEL & PETRA TOUR - APRIL 1 - 14, 2024

ITINERARY (Subject to Change)

Petra, Jordan

DAY 1 - LAX to Amman, Jordan

Our trip begins as we meet in the Los Angeles airport (LAX) for our departure to the Amman airport. We must be at the airport three hours before the flight departs to check in and board our flight for Amman and then the land where Yeshua walked as a Man. Shalom! 

DAY 2 - jordan

Our flight lands us in Amman Jordan and we will end the day with a good nights sleep, awaiting the adventure to begin!

Day 3 - JORDAN: Madaba, mount nebo

We will begin our day with a hearty breakfast in Amman and head south for Madaba. We will stop to view a 6th-century Byzantine-era mosaic map of Jerusalem discovered in the floor of the Greek Orthodox Basilica of Saint George. With two million pieces of colored stone, the “Holy City” map depicts hills, valleys, villages and towns.

After lunch, we will visit Mount Nebo, Moses Mountain, situated 10 kilometers west of Madaba, overlooking the Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, West Bank and Jerusalem, where it is believed the alleged sites of the tomb of Moses. The major highlight is the Byzantine Church built in the 4th century to memoralize the prophet Moses’ death. It was the spot where Moses viewed the “land of Canaan," the Holy Land, that he would not enter. Overnight at the Petra Moon Hotel in Petra.

day 4 - JOrdan & eilat, israel: petra, camel ride in wadi rum

We will begin our day with a drive to the long-lost city of Petra. This city with its rose-colored temples and amphitheatre was carved out of multihued rocks by the Nabateans and is a UNESCO world heritage site which is more than 2,000 years old. This ancient wonder dominated the trade routes and was completely lost to the world for 300 years. In 1812 it was “rediscovered.” This is the place many believe those living in Israel will flee to during Daniel’s 70th week. This site will leave you breathless!

After lunch, we take have a jeep tour (with an optional camel ride) in Wadi Rum before we go to the Arava border to cross back into Israel. We will drive from the border to Eilat. Eilat is a southern Israeli port and resort town on the Red Sea. Its beaches are noted for calm waters, snorkeling and diving. The Coral Beach Nature Reserve has buoy-marked underwater trails among fish-filled reefs. Visit the Coral World Underwater Observatory Marine Park with a glass-enclosed observation center submerged offshore. We will cross over the border into Israel and ascend to Jerusalem. After a long day, we will check into our hotel in Jerusalem.

Day 5 - jerusalem: timna park, ramon crater, dead sea, masada, ein gedi

After breakfast at our hotel, we will drive south to Timna Park, in Israel’s Negev Desert. One of the largest attractions in the south of Israel the park sits in a beautifully majestic desert setting. It has amazing history and geology, with the world’s first-ever copper mine, standing tall in the center. We will view the Ramon Crater.

We will drive north and take a cable car up to the fortress of Masada. Here the defenders held out for three years against the Roman Army and then committed suicide rather than be taken into slavery. “Masada shall not fall again” is the oath taken by cadets who graduate from Israel’s military academy.

After that, we will continue to the oasis of En Gedi and walk where David hid in caves from Saul. Then we will drive to the north shore of the Dead Sea for a dip in the water and float, before ending our day with a stay in our Jerusalem hotel.

Optional Evening Plans: Shmuel Bowman, Executive Director of Operation Lifeshield, will meet with us at our hotel to share about the life-saving bomb shelters that are needed in Israel. He will present the group with a Qassam rocket that had been launched into Israel.

Day 6 - Jerusalem: garden of Gethsemane, mount of olives, house of Caiaphas, pretorium, shiloh

Early in the morning, we will visit the Garden Tomb where we will enjoy a time of communion with the Lord, followed by a visit to the Mt. of Olives which overlooks the Kidron Valley and the Temple Mount. This is a walking afternoon where we literally walk where Yeshua walked through parts of the Old City.  Down the Palm Sunday Path to the Tear Drop Church to Gethsemane, a private garden for worship in the Garden of Gethsemane, to the House of Caiaphas. In the ruins of this house, there is a room underneath that was used for flogging people. A ridge of stone in the low ceiling has holes through which ropes can be passed to tie up the wrists of the accused. This is where Yeshua was taken after His arrest. We will visit the Praetorium where Yeshua was taken tried by Pilate.

We will end our day by visiting Shiloh and then overnight at our hotel in Jerusalem.

Optional Evening Plans: Take a guided short walk to visit the famous King David Hotel and stroll through the lobby; walk through the luxurious Mamilla Mall; stop for photos and a breathtaking view of the city; then enter the Old City at the Jaffa Gate. Participate in Israeli Folk dancing at 9:15 pm (30 shekels) or do some shopping a few blocks away in the Ben Yehuda area. Visit the YMCA on King David Street and take the elevator to the top floor to the observation lookout for an amazing view of Jerusalem (12 shekels).

Day 7 - jerusalem: israel museum, shrine of the book, mt. moriah, temple mount, western wall tunnels, ophel archaeological park

We will begin the day by visiting the Israel Museum and the Shrine of the Book Museum to view the Dead Sea Scrolls. Then we will visit the Temple Mount followed by a visit to the Davidson Archaeological Center, see the Herodian Mansion, visit the Jewish Quarter and see Hezekiah’s wall and the Cardo. After visiting the Western Wall, we will take a tour of the Western Wall Tunnels. Here at a certain spot in the tunnel you will be as close as one can get to the Holy of Holies from the Temple in the day of Yeshua. We will shop in the Old City and then enjoy dinner at our hotel and overnight in Jerusalem. 

Day 8 - jerusalem: city of David, hezekiah’s tunnel, pool of siloam, herod’s palace, Davidson center, herodian mansion

We will enjoy a breakfast in Jerusalem and then begin the day at the City of David and walk through Hezekiah’s tunnel; see a new and very exciting dig in process (known as the Gavati excavation); visit the Herodian Mansion in the Jewish Quarter and shop in the Old City and then enjoy dinner at our hotel and overnight in Jerusalem. 

Optional evening plans: We will take a taxi to visit the Mamila Mall and then a short walk to the Jaffa Gate in the Old City of Jerusalem.

Day 9 - galilee: mount precipice, caesArea maritime, roman theater, aquaduct, baptismal yardenit

After our breakfast at the hotel, we will head for Mount Precipice, which is located in Lower Galilee, near the city of Nazareth. It is believed to be the site of the Rejection of Yeshua, described in Luke 4:29-30 - The people of Nazareth, not accepting Jesus as Messiah tried to push him from the mountain, but "he passed through the midst of them and went away."

Then we will head to Caesarea By the Sea, stopping at the Roman theater, the aqueduct and wading in the Mediterranean. We will end our travels today as we drive to Yardenit, the baptismal site on the Jordan River for optional baptisms.

Day 10 - galilee; beit she’an, magdala, capernaum, mount of beatitudes

Our day will begin with a visit to Beit She’an, one of the ten cities of the Decapolis. Then we will drive to Magdala to view the archaeological remains of a first-century synagogue and where the story of Yeshua and Mary Magdalene took place.

Then, on to Capernaum, the house of Simon Peter, and the synagogue where Jesus preached. Then we will visit the sites where Yeshua spent 75 percent of His early ministry – The Mt. of Beatitudes where Jesus taught on the hillside. Then we will descend to Taghba (Peter’s Primacy), site of the miracle of the Loaves and Fish, and also where Jesus fed His disciples a meal on the beach of the Sea of Galilee after His resurrection. Return to your kibbutz for a Shabbat dinner and overnight. 

We continue to the Mount of Beatitudes, site of the Sermon on the Mount to reflect on the serene beauty and the even that took place here. On to Tabgha, site of the Miracle of the Fishes and Loaves and the Feeding of the Five Thousand, to see the chapel built over the rock commemorating the primacy of Peter.

Day 11 - galilee: tel dan, caesasrea Philippi, mount benTal, druze market

Today we will head north to the Golan Heights and begin the day with a visit to Tel Dan to view the altar of Jeroboam and the Canaanite gate. On to Banias, Caesarea Philippi, where Yeshua told His disciples why He had come. Peter claims Yeshua is “the Christ, the Son of the Living God.” Yeshua says, “Upon this rock, I will build My church.” Learn why this is so very significant! Then, to Mt. Bental to see the bunkers and fortifications and stand just 60 miles from Damascus. Isaiah 17:1 Damascus will cease from being a city and shall become a ruinous heap. Then we will visit Bethsaida, where the feeding of the 5,000 took place. We will end our day with shopping at a Druze Market and then return to The Ein Gev Holiday Resort Hotel (kibbutz) for dinner and overnight.

day 12 - galilee: jesus boat, boat museum tel meggido, cana

2019 Tour - Sea of Galilee

Our day will begin with a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee. While there, we will visit Ginosar to view the Ancient Galilee Boat museum to see the Jesus Boat, an ancient fishing boat, found on these shores, dating back to Yeshua’s time. We will visit Megiddo and take pictures of the Valley of Armageddon. We will make a quick visit to Cana where Yeshua turned water into wine. Overnight at the kibbutz in the Galilee, Nof Ginosar.

Day 13 - tel aviv: joppa

We will take a last look at Israel with a visit to Joppa, an ancient port city, where Jonah fled from the Lord. In the afternoon, we will take a flight from Tel Aviv to LAX

Day 14 - arrival in lax

Our heads and hearts will be full with wonderful memories that will last a lifetime.

COSTS: The cost of the Song For Israel 2023 Israel/JordanTour is $5,587 per person (price subject to change). Cost is based on a double occupancy hotel room. There is an added cost of approximately $1,350 for single occupancy. Price includes air and land transportation and cruise, twin bed hotel room, entrance fees, and daily breakfast and dinner and all tips. This price does not include lunches, airport taxes, visa taxes, or personal expenses. A limited number of seats have been reserved on the airlines.
