American Israeli Killed by Terrorist in Israel

This was reported by Operation Lifeshield in Israel: A Columbia University graduate and Connecticut native was shot and killed in the West Bank Monday by a suspected Palestinian terrorist, according to the Israeli Consulate.

Elan Ganeles, who graduated last May, became the latest victim of growing violence in the Israeli-controlled West Bank when two men opened fire on his car. Ganeles was a West Harford resident who studied neuroscience and sustainable development at Columbia. Thousands attended yesterday's funeral for Elan Ganeles, the 26-year-old American Israeli who was shot dead by a terrorist on Monday.

According to the Jewish Federation of Greater Hartford, the 26-year-old was in Israel for a friend’s wedding when he was gunned down while driving.

His parents flew in from the US for the funeral in Ranana and were joined by a massive group of Jews from around the country who didn't even know Elan but wanted to support and comfort the grieving family.
