Update on The War In Israel
We are getting reports from many sources from Israel, but the best ones have been the ones from those connected with Song For Israel.
The first Red Alerts I received came in on May 9th in the morning (West Coast) and there really has not been a break other than short periods of time.
The largest Israel strike since the outbreak of fighting earlier this week was a massive bombardment of Hamas’s internal Gaza tunnel network overnight Thursday/Friday overnight. Israel was very strategic and mounted a ground attack with tanks lined up on the border of Gaza inside the no-man zone. They let the world know that they were about to go in for an on-the-ground battle. Around 9 pm, all the tanks and armored vehicles started their engines, alerting the terrorists to run to their positioning in the tunnels nearby (that they had created with the very cement that Israel supplied for them to rebuild buildings and homes). Hamas was ready for the ground fight but what they received instead was Israel’s Air Force dropping bunker busting bombs on the tunnels, collapsing the tunnels and killing a number of Hamas commandos as well as some Hamas leaders.
The blasts destroyed miles of tunnels. The military believes that this massive barrage on the terror group’s tunnel network in northern Gaza (as well as other strikes on underground bunkers) are convincing Hamas that its subterranean infrastructure is no longer safe.
Hamas continues to retaliate by sending thousands of rockets into Israel, aiming at land where civilians are living. Song For Israel asks you to please pray that the rocket attacks do not kill people but are misguided and land in empty fields. Pray that the Iron Dome is effective in knocking rockets right out of the air! Pray for God’s wisdom for the leaders of Israel during war. Please pray that people are able to find shelter. There are not enough shelters, especially near the Gaza border where most of the attacks are coming. Song For Israel requests donations to help place more bomb shelters in this region. We have placed so far SIX bomb shelters, saving lives during these attacks! Each shelter costs $26,000 and we are half way toward sending money for a SEVENTH shelter.
