Song For Israel Gives $189 to the Jewish National Fund for Trees in Israel
Earlier this month Israel celebrated a holiday called Tu B’Shvat (New Year for the Trees). Deby shared about this holiday with the two Bible Studies that Song For Israel offers and it was a surprise to see how those in both classes responded! They wanted to pay for new trees in Israel. So, we collected a little offering and came up with $189.00. We will be sending a check to the Jewish National Fund who will purchase trees to be planted in Israel.
Through the Jewish National Fund, trees cost $18 each, so we will be providing money for a little over ten trees. This is a drop in the bucket of what is needed. Hamas continually sends balloons over the Gaza border that light the fields near the border on fire. Many, many trees were destroyed last year and continue to be destroyed by these incendiary balloons. Song For Israel is happy to be part of supporting the Jewish National Fund to help replenish the trees in Israel!
