Operation Lifeshield Provides Shelters for Teen Girls Residential School in Israel
It's a fact - Israel has her share of social problems, just like other countries. Violence, neglect and abuse at home; exist in many corners of Israeli society. The Eden Residential School for at-risk teen girls (ages 12-18) provides a safe space for those who cannot or choose not to live at home. However, this "safe" space, situated inside beautiful Kibbutz Karmiya, is located only 2 miles (3 km) from the northern Gaza border. And as recently as this past Thursday night, rockets struck this area, giving the residents only a few seconds warning to seek shelter.
Operation Lifeshield seeks to help the most vulnerable populations in Israel who live in targeted areas.
Operation Lifeshield delivered two bomb shelters a few days ago, donated by United With Israel. The girls were excited and appreciative to have more shelters to protect them. I sincerely hope that these shelters will help the girls concentrate on healing from their emotional wounds, and also demonstrate that in a world of hurt, there are people from distant places who love them.
Song For Israel partners with Operation Lifeshield in providing bomb shelters for those in need in Israel. It is a way for us to show our love for them.
