Israel to Release Palestinian Prisoners
Israel has agreed to free around 80 Palestinian prisoners and stated that "The prisoner releases will start when talks commence," (according to an Israeli official). As they have done in the past, they plan to release prisoners in stages.
When I was in Jordan last month, I witnessed a Palestinian protest just outside of my hotel room. Even from the 17th floor, I could hear the loud protests in Arabic. Palestinians were protesting their loved ones locked up in Israeli jails.

US Secretary of State John Kerry announced this week that Israeli and Palestinian negotiators have agreed to meet to resume peace talks that were stalemated in 2010. These anticipated prison releases are part of the pre-negotiations.
