Israel Attacked From the North and From the South
From the North: In a previous post, Song For Israel reported that several days ago, three Syrian tanks entered the demilitarized zone near the Golan Heights. Today, Sunday, Syrian forces first three mortar shells at Israelis in the Golan Heights and one crossed into Israel. The Israeli Defense Force (IDF) has fired back at Syria for the first time since the Yom Kippur War in 1973.
From the South:
Rockets were fired into southern Israel by Palestinian Terrorists in Gaza on Sunday morning. Over one million people ran for cover from a hail of rockets being rained down on them. More than 80 rockets and mortars were fired and at least a dozen Israelis were injured by shrapnel, several of them seriously. Many more could have been injured, but were sheltered by bomb shelters. At the same time, an IDF jeep was hit by an anti-tank missile, fired from Gaza and injuring four soldiers.
Israelis returned fire and Israeli officials warn that if the terrorists do not cease fire, a more massive retaliation could be coming. The Iron Dome has been shooting down rockets. Israelis are on high alert. Schools and businesses are closed down.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu advised: “Terrorist organizations are suffering grave setbacks at the hands of the IDF. The world must understand that Israel will not sit idly.”
Please pray that peace be restored on both the northern and southern borders and that these actions will not ignite further attacks on human lives. Pray for Prime Minister Netanyahu and his leaders that they will have wisdom to know how to respond. Pray for innocent civilians. Please also pray about saving lives in Israel and donate to our Bomb Shelter project.
