70+ Rockets Fired at Israel This Week
In the past 36 hours, Iran’s agenda to terrorize Israel has escalated. Ynet News (Israel) reports: “The Gaza rocket barrage on Israel’s southern communities continues unabated. Ten rockets were fired at the Hof Askelon Regional Council. There were no injuries. The Iron Dome system intercepted one rocket of Ashkelon after intercepting seven more earlier on Wednesday. In total, more than 60 rockets were fired at Israel since Tuesday night…Three foreign workers at the Eshkol Regional Council were injured on Wednesday. Two of the three sustained serious wounds and one sustained light wounds.” (Since this article was written, there have been more attacks, which have resulted in injuries.)
This is the very reason Song For Israel is urging financial support to build bomb shelters in southern Israel. To donate, please click here. To learn more about our bomb shelter project, please click here.
Schools in southern Israel have been closed and residents are being told to stay in or near their bomb shelters (if they even have one). As Iran continues to pound Israel and threaten their existence, especially with nuclear weapons, it is difficult to know how to respond. Netanyahu is asking the world to support his “red line,” but time is of the essence.
According to Prime Minister Netanyahu’s Facebook page, on October 24th, he said: “We didn't choose this escalation nor did we initiate it, but should it continue we are prepared for a much more extensive and deeper action. In any event we will persist with preventative interdiction. Whoever intends to harm Israeli citizens should know that he will get what is coming to him.”
Please pray for the peace of Israel…pray for those one million Israelis that live in fear of rocket attacks. Pray that security for this tiny nation becomes secure. Pray for the leaders, especially Prime Minister Netanyahu, to know how to deal with this situation.
