Breaking news: Obama is Sending $192 Million of your Tax Money to the Palestinian Authority

According to The Times of Israel, May 4th edition, “Obama lifts freeze on $192 million aid package to {the} Palestinian Authority. You may recall that last September, the US Congress froze a $192 million aid package to the Palestinian Authority after the Palestinian president, Mahmoud Abbas, tried to attain a UN endorsement for Palestinian statehood. Nothing has changed since last September. The Palestinians are still sending missiles into Israel, they are still not recognizing Israel as a state, they are still not willing to negotiate for peace, they are still considered an enemy to Israel and yet now our President is handing over your tax dollars with a smile on his face stating that the aid “was important to the security interests of the United States.” That sounds like the payoff to a bribe to me.

Section 3 of Congress’s Palestinian Accountability Act for 2012 stipulates that “no funds available to any United States Government department or agency…may be obligated or expended with respect to providing funds to the Palestinian Authority.” However, Obama has now signed a waiver and has asked Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, to inform Congress of this news.

The fact that the United States EVER supported the Palestinian Authority makes my skin crawl. $192 M is a lot of money and as a taxpayer, this is absolutely NOT where I want my money going. How can Obama say that we have strong ties with Israel if we are aiding their biggest enemy? Is there NOTHING we can do about this? (Yes, I know…write my congressman, but is it too late?)
