Breaking News - Attacks on Israel -- "Operation Breaking Dawn"

Song For Israel partners with Operation Lifeshield in Israel, sending donations to build bomb shelters. We have paid for 8 shelters so far and they are being used NOW. See below to donate.

Operation Lifeshield has sent breaking news reports over the past two hours. They are below:

11:00 am (PST) on August 5, 2022:

BREAKING: IDF issues gathering restrictions for Israeli communities up to 80km from Gaza until tomorrow evening.

The IDF announced that they just eliminated 15 PIJ (Palestinian Islamic Jihad) members, including a senior commander.

Hamas and PIJ leaders are now promising to fire rockets at Tel Aviv, and rockets are reportedly already being prepared for launch from Gaza.

Beersheba has opened and readied its communal bomb shelters.

Shabbat is starting here in Israel soon and we will not be able to post live updates until after Shabbat. Please pray for our IDF soldiers and our civilians whose homes are about to come under fire.

Shabbat Shalom.

Note: On the map, the top city is Tel Aviv. The word above the “80” is Jerusalem.

7:15 AM (PST) on August 5, 2022:

BREAKING: The IDF is now striking multiple PIJ terrorist targets in Gaza.

Gaza's media is already reporting several wounded from the strikes.

Eshkol Regional Council instructs residents to remain close to bomb shelters.

The IDF has named this unfolding conflict "Operation Breaking Dawn."

7 AM (PST) on August 5, 2022:

War is expected to break out very soon.

Earlier this week, the IDF went into Jenin and arrested Bassem Saadi, the head of the PIJ terrorist organization in Judea and Samaria, along with a few other terrorists.

Since then, the IDF has been responding to increasing threats and attacks from PIJ terrorists by closing roads in the Gaza border communities, deploying extra soldiers to the most vulnerable towns, sending tanks to the Gaza border, and stationing extra Iron Dome batteries to prepare for a potential war with the PIJ terrorist group, which is primarily based in Gaza.

A message from OL Executive Director Shmuel Bowman:

"I was in Sderot yesterday. The situation in Southern Israel nearby Gaza is insane! Most roads are closed dues to heighten threat of terrorist attacks. Traffic is gridlocked as cars and trucks seek alternative routes. The train from Kiryat Gat to Netiviot (including stops in Ashkelon and Sderot) has been stopped for days. Some kibbutzim have been evacuated. The Security Chief of Shaar HaNegev called me today. He was so frustrated that he was yelling! The situation is explosive."

Please pray for the safety of lives and that this war would be a short war. Pray for many of our Song For Israel partners now in Israel.

More and more bomb shelters are needed on both the Gaza and Northern borders of Israel. To read more about our Bomb Shelter Project or to donate, please click here.
