ISRAEL BRIEFING from Operation Lifeshield

Song For Israel (SFI) has been receiving regular updates from Shmuel Bowman, Executive Director of Operation Lifeshield in Israel. SFI partners with Operation LIfeshield, donating bomb shelters to save lives in Israel and they are doing that right now! Thank you to those who have donated over the years. Here are a few updates from Operation Lifeshield:

8/7 22 - Noon (PST) - Nearly 1,000 Rockets launched from Gaza in the past 3 days. Rumours of a ceasefire are heard, however the intensity of attacks has now increased against Israel. A message to all resident of Sderot to enter shelters immediately was broadcast a short time ago, with warning not to leave the shelters until notified by the Israeli Army.

8/7/22 - 10:30 AM (PST) - UPDATE: 930 ROCKETS AND COUNTING fired at Israel nonstop since Friday night. Egypt is trying to negotiate a ceasefire. There may be a ceasefire tonight at either 8pm or 10pm. Israel agreed to reach a ceasefire but the PIJ terrorist group has not confirmed their decision yet. Israeli PM Yair Lapid told Southern Israel security heads that the "goals have been achieved, there is no use in continuing the operation."

Even if the ceasefire stands, PIJ terrorists are expected to fire even larger rocket barrages right before the ceasefire time begins, and likely a few rockets afterward as well. This is their typical pattern, so they feel they had the last hit. Time will tell. In the meantime, Southern Israel is still suffering from continuous rocket attacks as we speak.

8/7/22 - 5:30 AM (PST) - NONSTOP ROCKET BARRAGES from Gaza towards Southern Israel for the past several hours. Be'er Sheva and Rishon LeTzion are now also under attack. The IDF is striking PIJ rocket launching sites in Gaza to prevent further attacks.

8/7/22 - 4:30 AM (PST) - OVER 600 ROCKETS have been fired into Israel from Gaza since Friday night. Jerusalem and Tel Aviv were now both targeted by PIJ rockets, however, the vast majority of rockets were aimed at Southern Israel.

About 95% of the rockets headed towards populated areas were intercepted by the Iron Dome. However, 5% made it through. A major food factory in southern Israel took a direct hit, as did a few civilian homes. Luckily, bomb shelters saved the lives of the Israelis living in the homes struck in these attacks.

Dozens of Israelis have been treated for light injuries sustained while attempting to run to shelter within the minuscule amount of seconds allotted to seek safety, as well as for anxiety.

It was reported in Gaza that 32 Gazans, including 4 children, were killed by Israeli strikes, and that over 200 have been injured. The IDF made a thorough investigation and have released video and photo proof that the civilian casualties in Gaza were caused by failed PIJ rocket launches that were meant for Israel but struck civilian areas of Gaza instead.

A source from the IDF reported that following the IDF's numerous strikes in Gaza, the PIJ terrorist leadership in Gaza is believed to have been completely eliminated. The PIJ terrorist group has been responsible for the overwhelming majority of the rocket attacks in this conflict.

Egypt attempted to negotiate a ceasefire. Israel agreed but the PIJ terrorists refused, they want to get revenge on the death of their leaders. Arabs in other parts of Israel have been attacking Jews in solidarity with the Arabs in Gaza. The IDF has arrested dozens of PIJ terrorists in Israel. Rockets are still coming in now as we speak.

8/6/22 - 11:30 AM (PST) OVER 360 ROCKETS have been fired into Israel NONSTOP over the last 24 hours. 94 fell short in Gaza, 29 fell in the sea, and 162 were intercepted. There was a 95% Iron Dome success rate for populated areas. The rest of the rockets landed in open fields. The IDF has repeatedly targeted numerous PIJ terrorist sites in Gaza.

Please pray that God protects His people in Israel, pray that this war will not escalate, and pray that peace might soon be found.

You may sign up for the iPhone app to receive the same alerts that the people in Israel receive. It is called "Red Alert". Pray with each alert that the rockets land in empty fields! To help save lives in Israel, you may donate to our next bomb shelter project. We have collected $11,295 toward the $28,000 shelter. To read more about the project and to donate, please click here.
