The First Hostages/Prisoners Have Been Released in the Israel/Hamas War
On Day 49 of the war between Israel and Hamas, which began on October 7th, the first wave of hostages from Hamas were released.
Israeli Science and Technology Minister, Ofir Akunis, announced that an agreement was reached with the Hamas terrorist organization to free 50 of the 240 Israeli hostages who are being held in Gaza. He stated emphatically that the four-day pause in fighting Israel agreed to as part of the hostage deal is not the end of the war against Hamas, but is "just the beginning." The first 12 hostages released by Hamas were 12 Thai citizens abducted in the Oct. 7 massacre. Another 12 hostages should be released daily for the next three days and it was agreed that no fighting would take place.
"It's not a ceasefire, it's not the end. We will continue the war, and we will defeat the evil," Akunis said.
Minister Akunis said that Israel has two main goals, the first of which is "to be sure that we will not see the Hamas regime in the Gaza Strip at all."
The second is "to bring all our people home to Israel, to their families."
Just prior to the “prisoner swap”, Hamas sent rockets into Israel. In my opinion, this is typical of Hamas. Whenever a ceasefire has been called on both sides, they immediately break it with a barrage of rockets. But since that time, there have been no more rockets.
Just prior to the pause, Israel destroyed the tunnel under the Al-Shifa hospital. Israel released 39 security prisoners, who were actually terrorists. Additionally, 201 aid trucks were allowed to enter Gaza.
Song For Israel is encouraging everyone to pray that all of Israel’s hostages are released. Please pray for those who have not been released that God protects their minds and bodies. Pray for the leaders of both sides of the war to have wisdom.
If you would like to help save lives in Israel, please donate to our Bomb Shelter project. We are close to having the funds to send to Israel for another bomb shelter. Shelters cost $28,600 each. We have provided 9 in the past and would like to send the funds now for our 10th shelter. Click here to donate or click here to learn more about our Bomb Shelter projects.
