God is Blessing Israel with Rain and Replenishing the Sea of Galilee
As I check my weather app, I can see that the Galilee area of Israel is due more rain next week. The skies above Jerusalem remain overcast this morning following a weekend which saw rain falling in many parts of the country. The level of the Sea of Galilee (Lake Kinneret) was reported on Monday to have risen four feet since the beginning of the rainy winter season in October. However, the Water Authority cautioned that it is still as much as 16 feet below historic levels of what would be considered “full” and faith leaders throughout the Holy Land urged their followers to continue to pray for more rain before the onset of summer.
Last Spring I stayed in a quaint little guest house overlooking the Sea of Galilee. Although the weather then was overcast, you could still see the beautiful view. The water in the Sea is now 4 feet higher than in this photo. Did you know it really isn’t a sea, but rather a lake?
