All Eyes (and Prayers) on Israel

All eyes are on Israel as they brace for an attack coming from Iran and withdraw most of their troops from Gaza.

According to the Times of Israel, reports are that the Islamic terrorists could launch an attack today in Israel. This is coming from the US Intel. However, apparently, Iran is nervous that Israel would intercept their missiles and then respond with a massive strike on Iran’s strategic infrastructure. Iran does not want to go to war with Israel because Israel has better weapons and Israel has a commitment from the United States to defend them.

US support has not been as strong in support of Israel as it has been in the past. The relationship between Israel’s Prime Minister Netanyahu and US President Biden stands on shaky ground.

In Gaza, Israel has withdrawn most of its troops from the territory, leaving only one brigade in Rafah. This war is not over. The Israeli military now controls most of Gaza, therefore, there's not that much more for the full might of the Israeli military to do. As for Hamas, they still can function as a fighting force. But it's a much weaker fighting force than it used to be. The US has been strongly urging Israel to end this war but Israel will not relent until their citizens who have been taken hostage are returned. Will renegotiations resume?

Netanyahu said again this week that his aim is to destroy Hamas. He added that there's now a date for an Israeli offensive in Rafah, the city at the southern end of Gaza. Rafah is the last Hamas stronghold in the territory. "This victory requires entering Rafah and eliminating the terrorist battalions there," Netanyahu said. "This will happen. There is a date."

With military heat coming on both Israel’s southern and northern borders, it is time to ramp up our prayers. These wars will not end without support on our knees. Please pray daily for wisdom of all leaders involved. If you would like suggestions on how to pray, click here.
