250 Courageous Soldiers Heroically Have Fallen in the "Swords of Iron" 2023/2024 War Against Hamas
They loved their country, and they made the ultimate sacrifice fighting terror. 250 soldiers have fallen in battle or the line of duty since the beginning of the ground incursion in Gaza. And yet…
And yet, the world is now blaming Israel. The Israel Defense Force (IDF) is continuing to fight in the area of Khan Yunis, one of the last remaining strongholds.
The IDF are trained to only target terrorists and not civilians and they are very precise in their attacks. For example, this week, the IDF soldiers conducted targeted raids on terrorist infrastructure, locating weapons, and eliminating dozens of terrorists. During one of the raids, terrorists opened fire on the Israeli soldiers. Using a drone, the soldiers identified the terrorists and returned fire. During this encounter, much like many others, the soldiers precisely launched a “Matadore” missile at the room where the terrorists were located and were able to avoid harming a woman and two children who were in the adjacent room. That is precision! This is what the IDF is trained to do. Civilian casualties are to be avoided at all cost. In addition, the IDF soldiers evacuated the woman and children from the building an transferred them for medical treatment.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated in a video address today that “We are on the path to absolute victory. “Absolute victory is necessary, or the evil will just rise up once again to terrorize Israel.
Israel gave the Gaza Strip to the Palestinians in 2005 in an exchange called “land for peace.” However, within the next year, the Palestinians brought in Hamas, a terrorist group, to attack Israel, which has continued since that day. “Land for Peace” didn’t work then. It won’t work now.
U.S. President Joe Biden wants to revisit the idea of a “Two-State Solution.” Israel is not interested in this as it will have the same consequences as the “Land for Peace” deal. The Palestinians, interestingly enough, don’t want it either! They will not be happy until Israel has been removed entirely from the land….the land that was covenanted to Israel by God in Genesis 12:1-3 - God determined to call out a special people for Himself, and through that special people He would bless the whole world. The Lord tells Abram, “I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you” and restated in Genesis 15, 17, Deuteronomy 30:1-10 and many other places. It is clearly mapped out in Joshua 1:1-9 with vs. 4 stating: “From the wilderness (south) and this Lebanon (north), even as far as the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and as far as the Great Sea (Mediterranean Sea) toward the setting of the sun will be your territory.”
So many lives have been lost to save the land as the world comes against Israel. In this war 250 IDF soldiers have lost their lives. Yet, we know that God does not go back on His Word and this land belongs to Israel today. And forever. It’s a promise.
Pray for the families and friends who have lost soldiers in this war. Pray that God directs the IDF soldiers as they eradicate the terrorists.
