Operation Guardian of the Walls

Today I was on a Zoom call with leaders from around the world to hear a security briefing from Israel. We met and heard from some leaders in Israel about the current war now being referenced as “Operation Guardian of the Walls.”

I will purposely leave out names but will mention the organizations they represent in this article.

This war actually began around May 6th with three days of fires all over Israel started by Palestinians. There were 50-60 fires started daily. The rockets began to rain by May 9th. I noted the first ones that I was alerted to with my Red Alert app on my phone. Hamas has committed to the destruction of the State of Israel. When asked if there will be a peace treaty soon, the answer was not yet. Will there be a cease fire? Not yet.

Here is what a few people from Israel shared:

A woman who works with Magan David Adom (similar to our Red Cross) explained that their emergency workers were exhausted after the Coronavirus needs and the recent tragedy at Meron and then the rocket attacks from Gaza began. Instead of running away from missiles that fell, they run toward them, looking for injured people. They often have to dig through debris to find people to help. She asked those who work with her if they owned bomb shelters in their homes. 95% do not. They don’t have a bomb shelter near enough so they run to the stairways as the next possible safety place.

A woman who lives in Israel in the corner nearest the Peninsula of Egypt (home of ISIS) and Gaza (home of Hamas) said that she and her husband have stayed inside for over a week for fear of rockets. She explained that it is not only the rockets they fear may land on them but when the Iron Dome intercepts a missile, it leaves a lot of debris in the air that falls directly below and can also cause a lot of damage. If they need to go outside the house they wait at least 10 minutes after the Red Alert sirens to be sure no shrapnel is left coming from above.

If you look closely you can see smoke in the background coming from tires being burned in Gaza.

A few years back I visited the Gaza border and stood about ¾ of a mile from Gaza. A few friends and I ventured onto a wheat field owned by a friend of my friend and we picked wheat, knowing full well that members of Hamas were watching us. I was told in our meeting today that it is in this very place that many Israeli Defense Force Combat Soldiers are stationed. They are on the front lines on the Gaza border, putting their lives on the line for Israel.

We were told that the media is not reporting correctly what is going on here in the United States. The media is making Israel look like the aggressor. Whenever Israel makes plans to retaliate (which they absolutely have the right to defend themselves), they visit the site they plan to attack ahead of time and with blaring speakers, warn those in the buildings to please vacate as the building will soon be blown up. Israel is very humane and ethical—unlike Hamas who practices using human shields.

More Red Alert rocket sirens are sounding in Southern Israel now. They will continue relentlessly.

 How to Pray for Israel:

·        Please pray as the rockets and ground attacks continue, that lives will be spared — both in Israel and in Gaza

·        Pray for the leaders of Israel to make very wise decisions

·        Many will suffer from trauma – pray that God heals them quickly and supernaturally

·        Pray that a more permanent solution to the conflict between Israel and her enemies will come about

·        Pray that God will raise up donors to help pay for more Bomb Shelters to help save lives

How can YOU Help Israel:

You can also help save lives by donating to our Israel Bomb Shelter Campaign. One shelter costs $26,000 and Song For Israel has funded SIX of them. More are needed near the Gaza border which is being bombarded. Please donate even $5 to help save lives in Israel. To donate, click here. To learn more about our Bomb Shelter Campaign, please click here. We are a 501(c)3 non profit and you will be emailed a receipt for your donation for tax purposes. Thank you for partnering with Song For Israel.

After you pray, please forward this post to as many people as you can.
