Israel Under Rocket Attack - Day 3

Wednesday morning I began to get notifications on my phone from the Red Alert app, telling me that rockets were attacking Israel, coming from Gaza. In the first 24 hours, Israel counted over 350 rockets had attacked them. For a short period of time, the Tel Aviv Ben Gurion airport was closed as well as trains. Schools in the southern part of Israel were closed. Everyone in the south ran into a bomb shelter (if there was one close by). If you live near the Gaza Strip, you have about 10 seconds to run for shelter once you hear the siren. Children and parents are traumatized!

A cease-fire was wagered by the Egyptians for Wednesday, 9:15 PM (Israel time), however, most of the time, enemies often attacks for a while even after there is an agreement. This is what appeared to happen. At first….

The following day, the Palestinian Islamic Jihad did not respect the ceasefire agreement.

Israel was forced to respond. Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) officials were just targeted in an Israeli Defense Force precision strike. Gaza reports 3 died in the explosion. (Photo #4).

Meanwhile, rockets from Gaza continued bombarding Southern Israel. The Israeli Defense Force strikes continued and attacks on Southern Israel have been ongoing. It is unusual for Hamas to target Jerusalem, but this time rockets targeted the Holy City. Red Alert sirens and interceptors were heard in surrounding cities. A house in Kibbutz Nir Am sustained a direct hit. A home in Sderot was also struck. No injuries were reported, thanks to their bomb shelters.

As of this morning (USA time), over 900 rockets have been fired toward Israel. The Israeli Defense Force (IDF) struck more PIJ military sites and underground rocket launchers in Gaza overnight, bringing the total terror targets struck to 215 and counting.

PIJ terrorists have threatened to continue to send over more rocket barrages. Reports from Gaza confirm 30 dead and 93 wounded by IDF strikes (and PIJ rockets that fell short in Gaza) over the past 3 days. Various Arab communities in Israel are now rallying in support of Gaza and attacking Israeli police forces. In Israel, a home in Kfar Maimon and a home in Sderot were hit. At least one injured from shrapnel. As of yesterday,in Israel: 1 killed, 5 wounded by shrapnel, 16 wounded after falling while seeking shelter, 29 treated for anxiety.

Both sides are not interested in a ceasefire at this time.

Please pray for everyone in Israel to find shelter during these attacks and pray for God's healing from the trauma they cause.

Many living in the southwest region of Israel do not have any shelters to run into. Song For Israel would like to see more available and we are collecting donations to make this happen. If you would like to learn more about our Bomb Shelter project or to donate, please click here.
